Girls start their Mini Soccer journey

Bedfordshire has seen the introduction of many new girls teams playing their first games this season.
This weekend saw many new girls teams play their first games ever!

It was great to see all the girls across Bedfordshire playing for the first time in a team environment and having fun with their friends. Within this article there are some team photos which show some of the new teams prior to the kick off of their first game playing in the Bedfordshire Girls Football League.

The Bedfordshire FA are looking to continue supporting these new teams and players during this season and beyond. The Bedfordshire FA are also keen to encourage even more girls to play and try football for the first time.

Last season (2015/16) the Bedfordshire FA worked in conjunction with The FA Skills coaches and local clubs to promote girls football and inspire/link as many girls as possible to local club's training sessions with the ambition of create new girls teams for 2016/17. This season saw a record number of girls teams registered for the U9's/U10's divisions with 20 teams across the 2 age groups.

The Bedfordshire FA and partners are excited about the future of girls & women's football. The County FA are looking to continue supporting any local teams that are looking to promote girls football and to give opportunities for girls to play football in Bedfordshire.
