New Centre Manager for FA Girls ACC

Bedfordshire FA is delighted to announce that Tim Sergeant has been appointed as the new Bedfordshire FA Girls’ Advanced Coaching Centre Manager.
Tim will be starting the role immediately and this coincides with the first session starting Monday 22nd August at Wixams 3G.

Tim brings with him a range of experiences within the female game having acted as ACC manager when required last year as well as coaching a range of age groups within the talent pathway under the former PDC and most recent ACC. Tim commented ‘I am looking forward to bringing the ACC closer to the Regional and National Camps in terms of expectations, England DNA understanding and philosophy. I am really passionate about giving the players the best tools to help them develop within the female talent pathway and feel we have an excellent opportunity to excel in Bedfordshire’

This season will continue to see the U12, U14 and U16 squads receive 29 weeks of quality coaching combined with a mixture of festivals, half term fixtures and training matches against male teams in addition to their club based sessions and games. The main difference to the pathway is the introduction of a Girls Skills Extra session delivered by FA Skills Coaches targeting the U10s age group to support the progression into the ACC teams. These sessions will also be delivered on site at Wixams 3G to align with the ACC and to familiarise players and coaches alike.

The ACC forms part of The FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway and provides opportunities for talented girls to progress through the following steps to achieve the pinnacle of representing the England Senior Women’s side: ACC - Regional Excellence Camps - National Performance Camp - England U15, U16, U17, U18, U19, U20 squads and finally the England Senior Women’s side.

Along with this news, Bedfordshire FA is also very proud to announce Prestige Design & Workwear Ltd as a local, friendly and reliable business as our official sponsor of the girls’ ACC for the coming 2016-17 season.  The company based in Barton-Le-Clay have provided excellent print and embroidery services across a number of initiatives previously ranging from disability football through to local football clubs.

James Petty (NGS Manager) commented ‘Prestige have been fantastic since our very first introduction and will support the professional look that we want to provide for the girls as they aspire to progress through the pathway. Ultimately the centre aims to provide the best platform for the girls’ to progress and whether this is playing against other ACC’s or representing Bedfordshire somewhere along the England Talent pathway then it is fitting of a professional appearance.'

Joanne Keenan from Prestige added ‘We are proud to support Bedfordshire FA and it is fantastic to be able to support the development of aspiring young females in the area whilst giving each player a personal touch with their new training kit. Who knows, maybe one day we will be able to see our logo emblazoned across the tracksuit of a girl from the Bedfordshire ACC who ends up representing England!’
