Girls Talent Pathway

Emerging Talent Centre & Girls Development Centre

FA Girls' Emerging Talent Centres are part of The FA's Talent Pathway and support talented players that are 8-16 years old. Bedfordshire FA Girls Talent Pathway currently offers spaces to players aged 8-14 following a successful trial. Trial dates are released at the end of each season and usually take place in June/July.

Coached by FA and UEFA qualified coaches the pathway is tailored to give players the best opportunity to progress technically as a footballer and to help them develop socially and psychologically.

The pathway is made up of our FA Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) and Girls Development Centre (GDC). All tiers of our pathway contain U10’s, U12’s and U14’s (With U16’s to be introduced ahead of the 2024/25 season). Each age group is a double age band so the U10's includes U9's, the U12's includes U11's and the U14's includes U13's.

The ETC and GDC are both a supplementary training and games programme and will complement girls’ existing grassroots football commitments. Both allow all players to play for any club side locally as all games against other ETC's and GDC's take place in the school holidays.

All sessions are player centred and revolve around technical and game based scenarios with the emphasis on enjoyment, development and performance.

We hold trials for the Girls Talent Pathway in June/July each season, please get in contact with the Bedfordshire FA ETC Manager for more details: Marc Di Carlo (Marc.DiCarlo@BedfordshireFA.com).

Bedfordshire FA Girls Emerging Talent Centre

The Bedfordshire FA ETC forms part of the England Women's Talent Pathway, The FA’s National Development Programme and the England Squads.

The centre allows talented players to improve their skills through quality coaching run by The Bedfordshire FA and licensed by The FA. Each player benefits from 30 weeks of coaching at Cranfield Pavilion Monday Nights mixed with competitive fixtures representing their area against other regional centres and/or appropriately selected teams.

The opportunity does not conflict with any players’ club football but provides an additional challenge to their development including strength & conditioning and access to physiotherapy. If you are a player that feels they excel within their club environment or who plays within a mixed football team then we would like to hear from you.
