Referee Academy Training

The Bedfordshire FA Referee Academy held its second meeting of the season at Barton Rovers Football Club

On Tuesday the 23rd January, the Bedfordshire FA Referee Academy held its second meeting of the season at Barton Rovers Football Club. There were 14 young referees in attendance between the ages of 14 and 18.

The referees began the evening by taking part in an interactive Laws of The Game quiz. This was then followed by a session on misconduct report writing where the group learned what to include in a report and how to report incidents of misconduct. The final session focused on decision-making and foul recognition, which involved watching a series of clips before deciding what decision the referee should make.

To round the evening off, the referees were issued with their Bedfordshire FA Referee Academy shirts as well as one of our new U18 Yellow Armbands. The Academy will next meet on Wednesday the 21st February during the half-term break at Cranfield Pavilion for the Young Referee Practical Training Day.
