Benefits of Small Sided Games CPD Event

The first CPD of the season 'Benefits of Small Sided Games' was held to support the development of coaches

The Bedfordshire FA hosted the first Coach Development CPD event of the season. The CPD event focussed on the 'Benefits of Small Sided Games', and was delivered by the FA Regional Coach Developer Nimesh Patel.

There was a great turnout for the event with 37 coaches in attendance, they had the opportunity to learn, discuss and analyse the impact of small sided games in the development of players. This CPD delved into the detail of utilising the practice spectrum and STEP approach in practice design to ensure that the sessions and the outcomes are realistic for the players and the environment each coach works in.

The sessions were delivered with the support of FA Coach Mentor (Bedfordshire) Steve Worrell. The practical element of the session saw coaches to observe a session being delivered to the Luton Celtic Youth U13 Girls team. Whilst the session was being delivered the coaches were challenged from the side to analyse and ask questions about the practices demonstrated.

Overall, a very positive and engaging session for all those in attendance. We look forward to welcoming further coaches to our upcoming CPD events.
