Yes We Can Awards

Yes We Can Project & Leighton Park Rangers celebrate Sporting Successes!

Leighton Linslade Rotary Club and Osborne, Morris & Morgan Solicitors teamed up on Sunday 1st October to deliver the annual ‘Oscar Awards’. This event celebrates the “Yes We Can” Inclusive Sports Programme which provides accessible, affordable, and sustainable sporting opportunities in Southwest Bedfordshire.

Football is one of the many sports on offer for young people and adults with additional needs; this event offers an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the participants and volunteers over the season.

Recently, the ‘Yes We Can’ project has teamed up with Leighton Park Rangers to develop the pan-disability offer that is available to the local community. This will see the ‘Yes We Can’ and Leighton Park Rangers provide a range of Pan-disability teams, therefore enhancing the provision in the area.

Richard Johnson OBE, Yes We Can Team Leader said ‘The event was a truly emotional and inspirational day with an opportunity to recognise the sporting achievements of those who access the " Yes We Can" programme.’

Amrit Bains (Football Development Officer – Disability & Inclusion) attended the event, he said the following: ‘The Yes We Can project is an incredible organisation that provides countless opportunities through the dedication of its selfless volunteers. I am excited to see the partnership between the Yes We Can project and Leighton Park Rangers as it will provide a significant number of increased opportunities to the local community.’
