Nominations open for the Grassroots Football Awards

Help us recognise the fantastic people who put their heart and soul into grassroots football in Bedfordshire

The England Football Grassroots Football Awards are our opportunity to celebrate the people who make grassroots football great for everyone

They're our way to recognise and celebrate those who put their heart and soul into the grassroots game – and say a huge thank you to the amazing people who inspire us all.

People who have really made a difference and can demonstrate how they make their positive impact happen. Who behave with fairness and integrity, creating fun, safe and inclusive environments for everyone. Encouraging the very best, both in themselves and in everybody around them. Rising to overcome challenges and making a truly positive impact in their community.

So if you know someone in football who has gone the extra mile, make sure you celebrate their efforts but nominating them for a Grassroots Football Award. You have until 19 April to submit you nominations via the England Football website.

How the Awards Work

The awards are split into 11 main categories, celebrating the amazing work done by individuals, clubs, leagues and projects across grassroots football.

• Coach of the Year - Female Pathway
• Coach of the Year - Male Pathway
• Coach of the Year - Disability Pathway
• Grounds Team of the Year
• Club of the Year
• League of the Year
• Match Official of the Year
• Young Volunteer of the Year
• New Volunteer of the Year
• The Lioness Award
• Positive Football Environment Award

Each of the County FAs across the country choose a local winner for each category from the nominations in their area, which then form a shortlist for national winners, who are selected by an FA judging panel.

Making Your Nomination Count

We want to recognise those people who embody all that is good about football, and who apply those qualities to the local communities that they enrich. Think about who’s impressed you over the last year, how they have made a positive difference and what they did to make that happen.

At the core of the Grassroots Football Awards are the PRIDE values - Progressive, Respectful, Inclusive, Determined, and Excellent. The more details you can give us about how your nominees demonstrate these values, the better.

For more detailed information on entry requirements for each category you can download the Awards Criteria.

NOMINATE YOUR GRASSROOTS HEROES
