In partnership with the National FA, Luton Borough Council, and GSV Sports Management, we were pleased to hold the recent Bedfordshire FA Referee Course which was aimed at people from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
There were people 18 people in attendance at the course which took place at Lealands High School, Luton on Thursday 30th November, and Sunday 3rd December.
The candidates learned about the laws of the game and key skills of refereeing through a mixture of theoretical and practical training. The candidates will now complete 5 training matches on grassroots leagues in Bedfordshire to become fully qualified referees.
We are proud to give opportunities for people from underrepresented backgrounds to get involved in football. We will continue to run courses and events like this in the future to encourage people from historically underrepresented backgrounds the opportunity to begin their journey within football.
