Not 1 but 2 National Award Winners from Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire FA are delighted that two of its County FA winners have gone on to win National Awards at the England Football Grassroots Awards

Bedfordshire FA are delighted that two of its County FA winners have gone on to win National Awards at the England Football Grassroots Awards in recognition of their outstanding contribution to grassroots football.

Shelbee Clarke originally won Coach of the Year – Disability Pathway for her work with SSG Celestials at the Bedfordshire FA Grassroots Awards 2023. England Football were so impressed with the outstanding work that Shelbee carries out, that they put her forward for the prestigious Bobby Moore Award that she subsequently won. Shelbee was presented with the accolade at the FA Community Shield between Arsenal and Man City and was also joined by fellow Bedfordshire FA winner, Owen Younger.

Owen leads a team of volunteers at Crawley Green Youth to maintain the pitches at Crawley Green Recreation Ground. Owen won the Grounds Team of the Year Award at the Bedfordshire FA Grassroots Awards 2023 and subsequently went on to become a National Award winner alongside Shelbee. We are extremely proud of the impact that both Shelbee and Owen have made and continue to make in the local community and it was fitting that they were both able to celebrate in style at Wembley Stadium.

Shelbee and Owen picked up 2 of the 12 awards together with the other National winners in an enjoyable ceremony that involved presentations from England legends John Barnes, Rachel Yankey, Sue Smith, Martin Keown and World Cup Winner Sir Geoff Hurst as well as the England Men’s team manager Gareth Southgate.
