Groundhop Record?

Real Haynes have announced Bladder Cancer UK will be their charity partner for the groundhop game on 12th October.

Real Haynes are looking to beat the record for HOP attendance. Gary started the club as part of his recovery from Bladder Cancer. Proceeds from the day go to the charity.

Real Haynes are trying to beat the attendance record for the Bedfordshire Hop. 535 is the current record although, the club have set themselves a target of 550 for the Real Haynes v Blunham game this year.



Gary was diagnosed with a grade 3 bladder cancer in March 2016.  Gary started Real Haynes in July 2018 as part of his recovery from Bladder Cancer. Gary is 6 months from remission and is still in BCG treatment. This will be a great event to help make men aware of bladder cancer.

Fight Bladder Cancer will be the charity partner for the day. Bladder Cancer is the 5th most popular cancer in Europe and prominent amongst men. It will be great to get local survivors and sufferers together on the day.

The team finished 5th in Div 3 in their first year but this season want to push for promotion to Div 2. The club now have a reserves team as well during their 2nd season.

The game is free to attend but the club will sell programmes, there will be the opportunity to have a beer from the refreshment tent, BBQ and a raffle on the day.
