Beds FA held the first ever Ramadan midnight Trophy in Luton

Beds FA held the first ever Ramadan midnight Trophy in Luton. The competition was aimed at adults during the holy month of Ramadan being delivered in the early hours of the morning at Inspire Sports Village.

The tournament saw 10 teams take part and over 60 people participating, this culminated into a final where an eventual winners Luton Tigers defeated Queens Park Crescents. The Trophy was put together by Beds FA along with other stakeholders such as Active Luton, Team Beds and Luton and Luton Council to provide a community project that was aimed at those observing Ramadan and for them to enjoy a sport they love without affecting fasting or prayer times.

Ciaran Alexander Football Development Officer who organised the event commented

“The event was a huge success and was amazing to see so many adults enjoying playing football in the early hours of the morning and can’t wait to bring the The Ramadan Midnight League to Bedfordshire in 2019”.

The Beds FA will now hold a tournament which will see Winners and Runners up from all the Ramadan competitions in the country compete to be the overall winner for 2018.
