Hatters win the Premier Cup

Luton Town lift the silverware after penalty shoot-out at Biggleswade Town

A Hatters team lifted the Bedfordshire FA Premier Cup after a 2-2 draw at Biggleswade Town was followed by a penalty shoot-out win.

Fielding a mix of senior and youth team players, the Hatters took an early lead when Casey Pettit raced onto a Josh Boorn through ball and lobbed onrushing Biggleswade keeper Sam Donkin.

A host of chances went begging as the first half progressed, but Lloyd Jones doubled the advantage with just under 20 minutes to go with a thumping header from a Jake Jervis corner.

Biggleswade staged a comeback, however, with two goals in as many minutes, the first from Kieran Forbes, who finished well following a driving run (75) before Calum Stead (76) bought them level following a good move.

In the penalty shoot-out that followed, Jones, Galloway, Avan Jones and Jervis all netted for the Hatters, with James Shea saving twice from White and Donkin to secure a 4-2 victory.
