Bedford Walking Football Phenomenon
Ian, Steve, Martin and Phil deserve special recognition for achieving what can only be described as the biggest Walking Football session in the country! The numbers have skyrocketed because people keep coming back… bringing friends and family with them. Growth hasn’t slowed up because participants rarely leave and why would they?
What’s their secret?
We’ve been trying to figure that one out for a while now. In truth, it is simply down to offering a great service and taking care of people. An Email Update goes out every week providing information about the sessions, news, trivia and a networking session. On the current agenda is the Christmas outing to watch Bedford Blues.
Their format is Walking Football at its best:
- Turn up, check in.
- Pay your three quid.
- Have a little stretch off.
- Have a good old chat with the lads.
- Get into teams.
- Kick-off, walk about.
- Swap games/opposition.
- Repeat the previous two points.
- Finish up.
- Have a good laugh with the lads.
- Go home.
Admittedly, we could throw a few points in there about picking one of the guys up from the floor every now and then, or telling others to stop running.
