Areas of responsibility are to appoint/re-appoint officials to matches, prepare, present and deliver the Referee Liaison Officer areas of the County Plan. This includes generating a business plan for the Refereeing Department to ensure all aspects of the plan are delivered and are cost effective, supporting Referees and Leagues in the county.

You will be responsible for leading from the front with the team of volunteers that are crucial to the success of delivering 100% coverage of match officials to league and cup fixtures. You will also be responsible for helping design and deliver the counties recruitment and retention strategies and a close working relationship with the Referee Development Manager and Referee Development Team will be essential, to ensure success in this role. You will support the Referee department with training and development for the county’s Referees. You will require excellent man-management, inter-personal and organisational skills.

The role will require a person who has excellent administration skills, experience of working as part of a team to achieve success and the ability to work flexibly and remotely.

Part of this role includes League Liaison, which will require building relationships with the Bedfordshire based Leagues, attending League meetings (when invited), offering advice and assistance to ensure our leagues and ourselves are well equipped to support Bedfordshire FA Referees.

The role will require a person who must be willing to work flexible hours. Weekend work during the ‘open-season’ is required every week and hours are stipulated on the job description. Flexible hours during the week can be discussed and the role will be predominately home-based (during the open-season).

The Referee Liaison Officer will report directly to the Referee Development Manager and be an integral part of the Referee Development Team.
