Disability Football Engagement Toolkit

We are proud to announce our new ‘Engagement Toolkit’ aimed at supporting clubs

We are proud to announce our new ‘Engagement Toolkit’ aimed at supporting clubs with creating more opportunities for people with disabilities to play football in Bedfordshire.

As a County FA, we are extremely proud and passionate about our disability football in Bedfordshire. The Ability Counts Leagues remain an inspiring environment for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy and develop their game. There are several examples of fantastic community projects out there as well.

These sessions provide a platform for children with disabilities and adults at risk to be part of a team; experiencing the thrills of grassroots football.

We are committed to ensuring sustainability and improving our disability football offer. The toolkit was designed to support our existing clubs offering opportunities within their communities, with a focus on increasing participation numbers.

Perhaps more pertinent is the current ‘gap in the market’ around Bedfordshire within grassroots clubs. Whilst disability football is popular, approximately less than 3% of clubs offer a disability team to their community. Many clubs that we have worked closely with have expressed a desire to do more and we are hoping this toolkit will help them do just that.

The digital asset will aid clubs with the knowledge of what to expect and what you will need to do to provide a new and exciting opportunity. The idea is to help your club engage with a new target audience and then get out to support your creation of new sessions/teams.

Have a look through and get in contact with Josh if you have any questions.
