Do you have one person in your club who seems to do everything? Does your club need an influx of new volunteers? Or are you seeking to offer your skills and expertise? Do you want to help a club progress and develop?

Volunteering within football in Bedfordshire

Local football would not survive without the army of volunteers who turn out each week to support the running of the game. They fulfil a huge variety of roles within local football clubs from coaching, refereeing, administration, websites, treasury the list goes on.......

The Bedfordshire FA are proud to support the following projects to help local people get into volunteering and local clubs to recruit more volunteers!

Find a club

Our FIND A CLUB box on the homepage of our website allows you to input your postcode and search for clubs in your area. Some will be searching specifically for volunteers. We suggest that you call the Secretary of your local club or club you are interested in helping with and see if they have any opportunities available. You can also view specific opportunities by looking at our Coaching Vacancies page.

Football Futures Programme

The Football Futures programme in Bedfordshire gives 13-25 year olds the opportunity to develop their skills and experiences through volunteering. Once young people have found a voluntary opportunity (via the find a club tool) they can sign up for free to gain qualifications and further support from the Bedfordshire FA. For extra help and support in finding a voluntary opportunity suitable for a young person please email Marc Di Carlo on Marc.DiCarlo@BedfordshireFA.com

For more information please visit our Football Futures page.

Youth Council

The Youth Council is for young people aged between 14 and 24 to give a voice and the opportunity to positively affect the future of football for all. The Bedfordshire FA Youth Council has representation from all areas of the game including young players, coaches, referees and volunteers. The Bedfordshire FA Youth Council has three goals. These goals and their work/projects will work to support the Bedfordshire FA with the delivery of the National Game Strategy and the County’s Plan.

-          To raise the awareness of opportunities for young people in football through the Football Futures
-          To sustain and grow the number of young people playing, volunteering and refereeing in football
-          To support the County FA in understanding the needs of young people involved in the game
