SUPERMARKET CASH BOOST FOR YOUNGSTERS AT BEDFORDSHIRE FA

2:01 PM, Friday, 20 August 10.

The Tesco Extra, on Skimpot Road, Dunstable is set to make a £1,000 donation to help Bedfordshire FA run their school holiday clubs!

The donation will help the County Football Association fund its October half term programme, which offers local children the chance to improve their football skills whilst enjoying a week off from school.

The Association will hold their half term club at their new all-weather playing area next to the store, which is currently undergoing an extension. The donation will be made as part of the store’s commitment to supporting the local community.

Store Manager, Patrick Woods, said: “My staff and I are keen to support local organisations such as this. The club is only based across the road so it is a pleasure to be in a position where we can help our neighbours.”

Peter Brown, Chief Executive of Bedfordshire FA, said that he was delighted that Tesco have offered to support the running of the half term club. Peter continued: “We are always looking for ways to raise funds to keep our activities programme running so donations such as these are really important.”
