Stotfold complete League and Cup Double

Leighton Town  1 - 3  Stotfold

Stotfold added the Bedfordshire Senior Cup to the United Counties League Premier Division Title as they outclassed Leighton Town at Luton Town's Kenilworth Road Stadium. A crowd of over 600 watched Louis Lee give Stotfold an early lead and he pounced on a defensive mistake and then another crucial error by the Leighton defence gifted Stotfold with a second just before half time as Joel Mason smashed home from 6 yards. After Half Time Stotfold's top scorer Lee Allinson sent an excellent free kick into the bottom corner to give his side a 3 goal cushion before it was Stotfold's turn to make the mistake as Brad Gillham failed to claim a free kick and the ball was bundled home to give Leighton a lifeline. It got better for the Southern League Division One Midlands outfit when Stotfold were reduced to 10 men but the Rokermen defended stoutly for the remaining 15 minutes and thouroughly deserved their victory.

With victory Stotfold also became only the 3rd team in history to lift the Beds FA Senior Cup with the First Team and the  Beds FA Intermediate Cup with the Reserves in the same season.
