COMMUNITY COACH (x 2 POSITIONS)  SOCIAL INCLUSION (Salary Circa £15K)


Three year fixed term contracts Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust have just received a six figure sum from the
Football Foundation. This grant together with funding from a range of partners will enable the Trust to run a brand new community based project. The Trust is now looking to appoint two community coaches who will be responsible for the delivery of a major social inclusion project called ‘Onside’. Onside will be
delivered across West Hertfordshire, providing young people with the opportunity to take part in sports and leisure related activities within the districts of St. Albans, Dacorum, Watford and Three Rivers.

COMMUNITY COACH- FOOTBALL Development

(Salary circa £15K)

Permanent position
The Community Coach will support the Football Development Manager and will be responsible for delivering a full range of football/sports development programmes. The Community Coach will also lead a team of casual coaches to ensure a high quality of delivery on all Trust activities.


Applicants for all posts will need to possess the
following:

  • Ideally a 1st4Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football (priority will be given to Level 2 applicants) however consideration will be given to candidates who possess a Level 1 award and who are actively working towards their Level 2. 
  •  A sports coaching award in a second sport would also be desirable
  • Valid emergency Aid and Child Protection Certificates. 
  •  For those applying for the Community Coach - Social Inclusion roles you will require a proven track record of working on football and sports based youth diversionary projects including experience of working with hard to engage young people. 
  •  For those applying for the Community Coach - Football Development role you will require a provetrack record of working on football and sports development projects. The successful candidate for this post will also be required to support the delivery of our core programme activities including some schools based coaching.


For each of the positions detailed above the successful candidates will also require excellent organisation, time management and communication skills. You will be highly motivated, enthusiastic and have a pro-active approach to working flexible hours as the roles will include some evening and weekend work. You will require a full, valid UK driving license.
