The aim of the Bedfordshire FA County Strategy is to increase, retain and develop players and raise the standards of coaches and volunteers in the female game.
The game continues to grow in England after the success of the Women's World Cup in 2007, the European Championships in 2009 and the build up to this summer's Women's World Cup in Germany 2011 - there has never been a better time to get involved and give it a try!
If you are interested in finding a local girls or women’s club then please use the ‘Get Into Football’ tab and search for a club in your area. If you want to find information on coach and referee education please also use the relevant sub sections on the website.
Some of the projects that we currently have running include:
The FA Charter Standard Award
The FA Charter Standard Kitemark is awarded to Clubs and Leagues who operate football in a fun, safe and organised environment. Clubs and Leagues that are committed to operating at the required FA standards and fulfil the necessary criteria, are recognised for all of their hard work and can access many benefits.
Get Back Into Sessions at Denbigh
Thanks to sportivate funding, currently there are informal sessions running led by a female coach at Denbigh High School in the indoor hall between 8-9pm every Tuesday until the end of November. After this the group of participants will arrange further sessions. All players aged 16 and over are welcome regardless of ability to give it a try.
Just Play Centre
On Wednesdays between 3-5pm the Beds FA host a Just Play session which enables players over the age of 16 to come and play informal football for £2 per person. This session has space for a female only kickabout so if you are interested in giving it a try then please come on down.
If you would like further information on any of the above please contact the development team.
