Meet the Team

Meet our four skills team coaches Steve, Mark, Iain and Natasha

Stephen Maker

Steve is the Team Leader of The FA Tesco Skills team in Bedfordshire.

Steve was one of the first FA Tesco’s skills coaches before being promoted to lead the Bedfordshire skills team in 2008. Steve first started coaching during his BSc in coaching, Sports and Exercise Science before moving to the USA to work with young players.

Before joining the FA Tesco Skills Programme, Steve worked for a professional football club for four year, alongside his degree in sports science, Steve has also completed the FA youth award modules 1 and 2.

Along with being the Team leader, Steve works in schools and Chartered Standard clubs in the Leighton Buzzard area.

Mark Humphrey

Mark is an FA Tesco’s Skills coach within the Bedfordshire team.

Mark is a Level 3 qualified coach and has completed the FA Youth Award modules 1, 2 and 3.

As a player Mark represented Huntingdonshire County, and played for teams including Luton Town and Peterborough.
Mark has returned to the game as a coach, and a passionate supporter of Manchester United.

Mark uses his coaching expertise within the County working in schools and Chartered standard clubs within the Sharnbrook area.

Iain Mortimer

Iain is an FA Tesco’s skills coach within the Bedfordshire team.

Iain has been coaching since he was just 16, combining coaching for Watford FCs community programmes with his studies before honing his skills with a ladies team and the Hertfordshire Sports Partnership as a community coach.

Before joining The FA Tesco’s Skills Programme, Iain spent 18 months coaching a local youth football team.

Iain is a Level 3 qualified coach and has completed the FA Youth Awards modules 1, 2 and 3.

Iain looks after the Luton area for schools and Chartered Standard clubs.

Natasha Orchard-Smith

Natasha is an FA Tesco’s Skill coach within the Bedfordshire team.

Natasha first started coaching as her son got more and more interested in football, taking her Level 1 coaching badge and going on to coach his school and club teams. She then started working for a few hours a week for a local coaching programme before joining The FA Tesco’s Skills programme.

Natasha became the first woman to complete her FA Youth Award modules 1, 2 and 3 and is also Level 2 qualified coach.

Natasha works with Schools and Chartered Standard Clubs within the Mid Beds Area and has Skills centres at Robert Bloomfield in Shefford and Bedfordshire FA in Dunstable.
