- Who is it for: This workshop is aimed at anyone involved in the administration or running of football in Counties, Districts, Leagues and Clubs e.g. administrators at county, district, league and club level; volunteers; parents; coaches; referees; managers and players.
- Course aims and objectives: To provide a greater understanding of the needs of ethnic minorities and how you can build relationships with and learn about diverse communities to help you make your organisation more accessible to people from different faiths and cultures. it supports The FA's strategic goal of developing more players in grassroots football.
Course Content:
This is a workshop designed to build confidence when working with people from different ethnic backgrounds and faiths. It covers race equality legislation, good practice when working with different cultures and faith groups and actions everyone can take to promote inclusive football.
It will help you recognise differences and similarities between faiths and the impact someone's faith can have on their involvement in football e.g. kit, fixtures, refreshments.
The workshop is interactive and informal and tutors draw on participant's experiences and knowledge as well as developing learning through small group activities and in presentations.
Practical Involvement: There is no practical (i.e. on-field) aspect to the workshop.
Assessment: There is no formal assessment; the progress of learners is monitored through the group activities and discussions.
Re-assessment: It is recommended that individuals do an online module approximately three years after attending a workshop.
