JFO Tutor Training

Would you like to run a course for your Young Leaders?

Would you like to be able to run you own Junior Football Organisers course within your school?

Course Information:

Minimum Age: 16

Course Duration: 6.5 hours

Course Prerequisites: Physical Education Teacher or 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football who is Generically Tutor Trained

Course aims and objectives: This course will provide teachers and coaches with:

  • An understanding of the JFO Course content to enable them to deliver the course to students.
  • To delve into fundamental movement skills in a practical setting.
  • To understand The FA 4 corners model.
  • Look at the young leadership programme and Step into Sport.
  • Examine different delivery methods for the course.

Course Content:

Theory:

The course will introduce some key aspects in the following:

  • Preparing to play
  • Fundamental movement skills
  • Safety and Safeguarding Children
  • Refereeing mini-soccer
  • STEP principle (Space, Task, Equipment, People)
  • Basic Introduction to The FA LTPD 4 Corner model 
  •  Organising festivals or mini-tournaments
  • FA Leadership and Volunteering programme

Practical:

Practical elements of the course will provide an introduction to:

  • Fundamental warm up
  • Game related activities for 5-11 year olds
  • Refereeing mini-soccer

Practical Involvement:

Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning. (This however will not prevent successful completion of the award)

Assessment:

Candidates will be formatively assessed throughout the course.

Refresher:

No refresher required.
