Bedfordshire FA - developing football for everyone
About Us - promoting local football

Friday Night Football

The Friday Night Social Inclusion project is our most successful initiative; on a Friday night the AGP facility is opened and floodlit free of charge for young people between the ages of 16 and 19 to come and play informal football.

Friday Night Football 8.00 to 10.00pm

Since July 2010 the project has seen close to 200 different young people attend which keeps them off the streets providing a productive alternative especially during the light warm summer months with up to 40 participants per week. The biggest success of this project is the transfer of around 45 players from the informal nights who have joined local football teams and created their own 5 a side teams for the regular AGP league. Local team managers partner with the project to advertise their clubs and find new players. The project is supported by the local police Safer Communities team.

The project currently costs a minimum of £84 per week to run utilising volunteers to mainly run the night with one paid member of qualified staff on site. If you are interested in sponsoring the project please get in touch.
